Death of the landline
In 2025, BT are committed to switching off the traditional phone network made of copper wires, meaning businesses must find another solution in order to be prepared. 25% of businesses are still unaware of these changes.
The alternative is voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), a solution that transmits voice calls using an internet connection.
We’ve been using VoIP since 2016 and we’ve found it cheaper and much more versatile. It was really useful during lockdown – as long as you have power and internet you can plug your phone in anywhere.
And there’s the rub. If the internet goes down, you’re dead.
